When I was in kindergarten, they said that one day I would graduate from high school. It seemed a long ways off. I had no proof that would happen. No promise that I would even live that long\, but sure enough one day I did. The same thing happened with marriage and having children and many of the milestones in my life. There was a time that I could see none of these things; but they all came to pass. I had faith for them to happen. Well I have been told that I will be given eternal life after I gave my heart to Jesus and made him my Lord and Savior. I have faith to believe that.
So many people do not understand why followers of Christ embrace the Blood of Jesus which they cannot see. I see it everywhere I go. I see it over my bed, around m house around my family, around my car, anywhere I am led to put it. It is my protection, my defense, it is the currency that was necessary to save me from the pit of hell.
Romans 3:25 states, “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through FAITH IN HIS BLOOD, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.”
LET’S CONTINUALLY WORK ON BUILDING OUR FAITH
NOW THAT GOD LOVES YOU
(From a Booklet called “Faith Builders”)
We are told that God
is love; that He takes note of every sparrow that falls, and even the hairs of our head are numbered. This means that the least among us is very important to God. God is described as a forgiving, loving Father. In building
faith, it is of first importance to integrate this truth into your mind. Every day say aloud, “I am a child of God. He is interested in every detail of my life. God loves me.”
If any doubt arises, reaffirm and reiterate God’s love and hold to that thought until you know it for a fact. A thoughtful man asked, “What is the greatest truth in the world?” I turned the question back to him and he said, “It is that we are not alone.”
In building your faith, emphasize the great truth that no matter how dark it gets, how lonely you feel, or how you may experience rejection, you are not alone. Repeat that every night as you go to sleep and whenever difficulty comes. “I am not alone. God is with me.” Because God loves you and is always with you, you can have confidence that if you live His way to the best of your ability, and put your trust in Him, you will develop a faith that will withstand every shock in this life.
A method of meeting difficult responsibilities that can be of immeasurable help is simply to say: “God, please stay with me and help me and I will try to do the best I can.” And then add confidently the affirmation: “Thank you God, for helping me NOW.”
FAITH BUILDING SCRIPTURES: 1 John
145:9, Jeremiah 31:3, Psalm 42:5, 1 John 4:8 and Ephesians
POST SCRIPT: A couple of days ago I experienced something that brought to mind a “Thought for Today” I sent you a few weeks ago. I woke up one morning and my left rear tire was flat. I called AAA and the gentleman came and replaced the problem with a “spare tire“. I looked at the replacement and the following was imprinted of it: “JUST FOR TEMPORARY USE.” In a similar manner, when we sin and ask for forgiveness we should immediately work on eliminating that sin by seeking God’s deliverance from that particular transgression. Eventually, that “spiritual spare tire” won’t be needed.
