For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life.  LEVITICUS 17: 11

  1. I am very glad you have reminded us of this great fact. It should be uppermost in our thoughts as we venture out of our homes and onto roads, schools and activities.
We live opposite a parcel of land with nesting Plovers. They are a tough little bird and fierce if disturbed. This in turn interrupts our sleep. Last week the Plovers shrieked for hours in the small hours and when we looked, we found they had three teenagers throwing rocks and then chasing them with branches.
This is not the first time we have had many bad days and nights with this sort of behavior so once again we came out in our night attire and rubber boots to defend the wild life. The risk is always that the teens will attack us or our home. Once again we were pleading our Covenant and the Blood over ourselves, our home and the birds. Within minutes a security car with a spotlight arrived, asked us what we were doing out on the road in the middle of the night. The car took off after the boys and there has not been a return visit. Today there should be some new chicks from the nest.
