BUT NOT IN THE KINGDOM! by Elaine Davenport November 30, 2010

Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. John 18:36

My friend from Trinidad looks like a United States native citizen, but you can’t tell it until she talks.  Her accent is very thick.  Her life has been enriched by the customs and traditions of Trinidad.  Her diet is from there.   Her habits are from there.  The way that she views life is from there.   She’s here and though I may forget that she’s a Trinidad citizen to her core; she does not.   She’s “on loan” over here.   She came to save some money and a few other things but her goal is to go back to her native land.

I am a heavenly citizen; I’m on loan here.  My spirit runs me and my spirit was born of God and shall return to live with God eternally.  I do not have a special accent but if you talk to me you will know that I am different.  I am able to blend in to this environment; I live in an earthly body…but I am a kingdom citizen.

“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body….” Philippians 3:20

I accepted Jesus as my Messiah, my Savior and his Blood protects me.   The bible says so…I found out that it was true.  The blood of Jesus has saved my life and the lives of countless others many time over.  Satan, the adversary cannot overcome the Blood.  It’s impossible!

If you heard there was a man loose in your neighborhood who if he caught you he would kill, steal or destroy what would you do?  Please don’t say you’d lock yourself in your house; because that would not be practical.  But, it would be wise for you to do some research and to get smart, armed and ready to defend or fight.   It would be even smarter to go on the attack; but in this society they would call you a “vigilante.”  Also in this soceity the crook when caught is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

We have the right to go after satan and we have the right to fight him…and there will be a fight…you will not be overlooked…by the way…we’ve already been told that he is guilty.  So, don’t be dumb.   Yes, I said that…somebody is supposed to take heed to that.  Maybe it’s you.

The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Today I saw a friend get in a very uncomfortable situation.   There was nothing that I could do.  That got me to thinking….

“What  the devil uncomfortable?  No, I don’t want the devil to be “only” uncomfortable…I want him squirming, fenced in, defeated, turned back…that’s what I want.

That answer lies in The Blood of Jesus; it has power over satan; he cannot overcome it.   That is why he works in the earth to convince people who are gullible that it is utter nonsense.  One of the reasons why Jesus called him, “the father of lies.”

Revelation 12:11
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”

35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Colossians 1:12-14
“giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” (NKJV)
