Find Out The Truth! by Elaine Davenport

<But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[a] sin. 1 John 1: 7

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3: 23

Years ago, one Christmas someone knocked on my door. It was the Jehovah’s Witnesses. We said: “It’s Christmas.” As if to say how could you possibly come out to interrupt us as we celebrate the birth of Christ.

The person straightened up and looked us all in the face and said: “We don’t believe in Jesus.”

I remember that as much as I remember my 12th grade English teacher, Mr. Lawrence. I don’t think he liked me but he never said so. Well, I guess he did; he gave me an A.

Well after many more encounters with Jehovah’s Witnesses; I’ve come to learn that they’ve done some growing. Two years ago a woman and her daughter were quick to tell me: “Oh we believe in Jesus, we just believe that he was a prophet.”

Out of respect for the mom; I didn’t say much…I just prayed for them after they left.

However while they were there I simply said: “You’re getting there.”

Then about two weeks ago; I encountered a young Jehovah’s Witness who “said” that he knew Jesus was the Messiah, but it bothered me that he literally ran when I asked him if we could pray together.

So…in conclusion I don’t know what the truth is for the Jehovah’s Witnesses. I just know that I’ve never met a woman or a man that is incapable of committing a sin. Thank God for the Blood!

1John 1:9 says

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If you have sin in your life, make a decision to change, to confess it God and to ask for forgiveness. God will forgive you and cleanse you.

If you are in a faith where you believe that Jesus is a prophet; let me tell you how you can find out what the truth is. Say a prayer alone by yourself and ask Jesus to show you that he is real. In a short time; there will be circumstances that change and people that will be sent most unknowingly to give you the confirmation that you need!

God is not an oppressive God. Jesus wants to be Lord and Master of your life. Open your heart today!

A Look At Scriptures On The Blood of Jesus (Sunday, January 20, 2008)

The Blood: Forgiveness

Hebrews 9:22 “Without the shedding of blood, there is
no remission of sins.”

1 John 1:7″… the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth
us from all sin.”

Revelation 1:5 “… Unto him that loved us, and washed us
from our sins in his own blood.”

The Blood: Victory

Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him (Satan) by the blood
of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony …”

The Blood: Sanctification

Exodus 29:37 “Seven days thou shalt make an atonement for
the altar, and sanctify it; and it shall be an altar most holy…”

Hebrews 10:10 “… we are sanctified through the offering of the
body of Jesus Christ once for all.”

Hebrews 13:12 “Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify
the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.”

The Blood: Assurance and Reconciliation

Colossians 1:20 “And you, that were sometime alienated and
enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled …”

Hebrews 9:14 “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who
through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God,
purge your conscience …”

Hebrews 10:19, 22 “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter
into the holiest by the blood of Jesus … Let us draw near with a true
heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an
evil conscience …”

The Blood: Protection

Exodus 12:13 “… and when I see the blood, I will pass over
you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you,
when I smite the land of Egypt.”

The Blood: Conditional Cleansing

But if we [really] are living and walking in the Light, as He [Himself] is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses (removes) us from all sin and guilt [keeps us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations]. 1 John 1: 7
